This DIY Solar System Planet Painting Toy introduces students to the scale, order, and visual characteristics of our solar system. Through hands-on assembly and painting, learners explore planetary features, relative sizes, and orbital positions. The activity reinforces fine motor skills, colour recognition, and creative expression while building foundational knowledge in astronomy and space science. This product is designed for students in Foundation to Year 6, with particular relevance to Years 1–4. It supports learning in Science, Visual Arts, and cross-curricular STEM projects. No coding required. This is a hands-on, screen-free activity focused on model-making and creative learning.
Each kit is designed for individual student use. Recommended setup includes a flat work surface, water pot for rinsing brushes, and protective covering (e.g., newspaper or plastic tablecloth). Drying time of approximately 2–4 hours is required before assembly. For best results, allocate a 60-minute session for painting and a separate 30-minute session for assembly and labelling. No additional tools or technology are needed.
