What's in the Box

Each DIY Fiber Optic Light Kit includes: 1 x pre-assembled LED light source module (with battery holder and switch), 2 x lengths of plastic optical fibre (approximately 30cm each), 1 x base mounting board, 1 x set of fibre connectors and holders, 1 x instruction booklet with circuit diagrams and assembly guide, and assorted decorative materials for customising the light display. All components are reusable and classroom-tested for durability.

Classroom Setup & Requirements

This kit requires minimal setup. Each student or pair will need a clean, flat work surface and access to basic tools such as scissors (not included). The LED module operates on 2 x AA batteries (not included). No soldering or specialised equipment is necessary. We recommend allocating approximately 45-60 minutes for assembly and demonstration, with additional time for investigation and extension activities. The kit is designed for individual use but can be shared in pairs for collaborative learning.
