Coding Platform

The turtle robot is programmable via a free, web-based block coding platform compatible with most modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari). No software installation required. The platform uses a drag-and-drop interface similar to Scratch, making it accessible for beginners. Advanced students can transition to text-based Python coding using the same platform. The robot connects via USB or Bluetooth (depending on model variant).

Each kit contains: 1 programmable turtle robot chassis with motors and wheels, 1 microcontroller board (pre-soldered), 1 ultrasonic distance sensor, 1 line-following sensor module, 1 rechargeable battery pack with USB charging cable, 1 set of screwdrivers and assembly tools, 1 set of colour-coded wiring connectors, 1 printed quick-start guide, and 1 online resource card with access to lesson plans, coding tutorials, and challenge cards. No additional components required.

Classroom Setup & Requirements

Each kit requires a device with internet access and a USB port (or Bluetooth capability). A class set of 10–15 kits is recommended for groups of 2–3 students. For line-following activities, provide a dark-coloured track (e.g., black electrical tape on a light floor). A clear floor space of approximately 2m x 2m per group is ideal. Teachers should allocate 2–3 sessions for assembly and initial programming, then 1–2 sessions per challenge activity. Batteries charge in 2 hours and provide 45+ minutes of continuous use.
